All are welcome to join us for worship in the Meetinghouse at 10:30am on Sundays from the second week of September through the third Sunday in June. Rev. Emily Bruce presides over services, with occasional guest or lay-led worship leaders. Worship is followed by coffee hour and fellowship time in Sampson Hall (across the street).

In the summer, we offer lay-led worship in Beal House (across the street, where there is air conditioning!) at 9:30am on Sundays.

What To Expect on Sundays

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Whatever is comfortable for you. Depending on the season you will find sweaters and blue jeans, shorts and t-shirts, shirts and ties, pants and blazers, skirts and blouses, or “Sunday best” attire with even a hat or two. Children should wear comfortable clothing; you may see kids in everything from play clothes to special outfits.

WHAT WILL I EXPERIENCE ON MY FIRST VISIT?

Our church campus is located on both sides of Main St, so you’ll park in the lot (next to the Beal House, where our social hall is located) and come across the street to the Meetinghouse where greeters will welcome you in the foyer. There you can find out more about our congregation and join us for worship. After the service, you’re invited to the Beal House to share in coffee hour and conversation.

WHAT ARE THE SERVICES LIKE?

We gather for worship to connect with that which is bigger than any one of us. Some of us call that God, others call it Spirit of Life or Great Mystery, and others simply join in the energy that happens within the community. Our services are open to a variety of religious and ethical traditions.

Every Sunday service is unique. By attending more than once, you will be able to get a better feel for who we are and what we do. A typical service may include stories, readings and musical selections from a variety of traditions. There is a sermon or message, a time for meditation and prayer, and several opportunities to join together in song. Our minister, Rev. Emily Bruce, preaches on most Sundays. About once a month you may hear from a guest preacher, a community leader or members of the congregation.

 WHAT ABOUT MY CHILDREN?

We are a multi-generational community and worship begins with all ages together. On most Sundays, after sharing the first part of the service together, children have the option to go take part in hands-on exploration of our Religious Enrichment theme, under the supervision of Laura Sanda, our Director of Religious Enrichment, and her team of volunteers. Children are always welcome to remain in the Meetinghouse with their families for the full service. We know that children’s learning and faith formation happens in many ways, from being part of traditional services to engaging with ideas through embodied play, art, and storytelling.
