The Other Thirst

We all know what it feels like to be incredibly thirsty.  When we can think of nothing else but that deep drink of cold water after which we may release a deep sigh. Near noon, in the desert, Jesus meets a woman at a well and asks for a drink of water.  Then he offers her to drink from a different kind of well.  This ancient story speaks to all of us who thirst for the inherent worth and dignity of every person: for justice, equity and compassion, acceptance and spiritual growth.
