This fall, Grades K through 2 will begin working on a Spirit Play curriculum. Spirit Play is a Unitarian Universalist adaptation of Jerome Berryman’s Godly Play co-developed by Rev. Dr. Nita Penfold, Rev. Ralph Roberts and Beverly Leute Bruce. The curriculum includes lessons on:
- Stories about our Principles (Promises)
- Heroes and Heroines
- World Religion Stories and Lessons
- Judeo-Christian Stories
- Stories based in Science
- Stories of our Interdependent Web
Our special multi-age program this year will be Jedi Academy held in the spring for all ages. Lessons are based on the five training categories of Skill, Senses, Courage, Insight and Spirit. The focus is on a development of mindfulness, peace and justice.
